| Overview | The Master of Architecture Program offers two degree options, the M Arch I and the M Arch II. The M Arch I program is a NAAB-accredited professional degree track for students holding a four-year undergraduate degree in a non-architecture major or those with a pre-professional undergraduate degree. In most states an accredited degree is a requirement to become a licensed architect. The curriculum comprises a three-year (107-credit) course of study. Prior to entry in the M Arch I program, students must complete one course each in college-level calculus, physics, and the history of architecture. Students without a design background may be required to take the Parsons Summer Studies in Architecture before starting the first semester. The M Arch II program is a post-professional degree track for students already holding a profession degree in architecture, either an accredited B Arch degree or a foreign equivalent. The curriculum comprises a one-and-one-half year (54-credit) course of study. It is a flexible curriculum that allows each student to custom design his/her coursework. The M Arch II program begins in the spring semester and continues for three semesters, allowing students to participate in the Design Workshop studio and/or pursue a summer internship or work in New York City after completing their first semester of study.
