Parsons The New School of Design seeks applicants for the position of Director of the Master of Architecture Program in the Department of Architecture, Interior Design and Lighting (AIDL). The successful candidate must have a record of excellence in teaching, and creative work/scholarship and hold a professional degree in architecture. The position starts in July, 2008. This is a full-time faculty position with administrative and teaching responsibilities including:

  • Developing a rigorous and progressive curriculum

  • Teaching one graduate-level studio and one graduate-level seminar per year

  • Staffing the graduate program with highly qualified faculty

  • Providing academic and professional guidance for matriculated M.Arch students

  • Interfacing with the public and architectural communities to promote a significant presence for the program worldwide

Located in the heart of Greenwich Village, Parsons is one of the largest schools of design in North America. The Department, with over 100 faculty members, has extensive ties to New York's design community and takes pride in the New School University’s significant legacy of progressive practice and critical thought.
