Curriculum
Overview

The four-year, 134 credit hour BFA ID is structured around a foundation year in two- and three-dimensional design methods and skills, a multi-year series of art and design history and theory courses, and a six-semester studio sequence that introduces architectural issues at graduated levels of complexity. BFA ID students may chose elective courses from within aidl; with permission, some of these electives may be taken from other departments within the New School University. Required core studies comprise 36 credit hours; major courses comprise 65 credit hours; and liberal arts courses comprise 33 credit hours. For questions regarding the BFA ID program, please contact our academic advisor at aidl@newschool.edu or call (212) 229-8955.
